Professor Salvo is a Gracie Barra founder and pioneer in Europe. He founded Gracie Barra Sicilia and Gracie Barra South West UK, establishing an early Gracie Barra presence in Italy, and went on to play an important role in the growth of the team across Europe. A 4th Degree Black Belt and 2025 Gracie Barra Legacy Hall inductee, his leadership connects GB Bath directly to the Brazilian roots and European expansion of Gracie Barra. He had promoted over 35 black belts in the region.
Today, Professor Salvo brings that founder’s mindset to GB Bath: preserving Gracie Barra tradition while building a premium, family-focused academy culture centred on technical excellence, personal growth, health and community. I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, teaching both children and adults, with a passion for movement, wellbeing and the connection between mind and body. I started practising Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2013.
With over 2,000 hours of Yoga teaching experience, I work with people of all levels — including BJJ practitioners and those at every stage of their movement journey. My experience in Jiu-Jitsu has shaped my understanding of movement, mobility, body awareness, adaptation and injury prevention.
Through BJJ, I’ve had the opportunity to travel, attend Winter Camps every year and train alongside renowned professors through many seminars. Those experiences have continually expanded my knowledge, both as a practitioner and as an instructor.
I create Yoga Flows that combine stretching, mobility, breathing and mindfulness. I’m also a Barre Fit Flow instructor, developing fluid mobility sequences inspired by both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Yoga.
I also take care of the BJJ academy in Paulton, and I’m a mum of three. For me, movement is about awareness, adaptability and wellbeing — helping both the body and mind move better.
